Ice Spice Renamed Iceland 'Spiceland': Hot Springs, a Silver Bikini and a Trip With Millie Bobby Brown

Ice Spice spent the weekend in Iceland and gave it a new name. On Sunday, October 5, the Bronx rapper posted 17 photos tagged in Reykjavik under a two-word caption, "spiceland 😍". By Tuesday the post had passed 1.1 million likes and 10,000 comments.

Most of the carousel was shot in a steaming geothermal pool, with low, dark hills behind her and Ice Spice in a silver metallic bikini. Nothing in the post tags the bikini's maker, and none of the coverage we read names it. The rest is the trip itself: a rainbow over a hillside, two Icelandic horses nose to nose, a candlelit group dinner and a walk along a river in a cream puffer.

The cold-weather fits

The nights out are where the styling is. In Reykjavik she pulled a cream fringed knit wrap over her head like a hood and wore it with a cream cardigan, a brown mini skirt, white tights and fluffy tan slippers, soft and layered against the cold. By day it was simpler: the cream puffer with its hood up, charcoal sweatpants and grey sneakers by the water.

The post tags Millie Bobby Brown and three friends, and Brown put up her own 10-photo carousel from Iceland the same day, captioned "find your people, hold them close!" Her photos fill in the itinerary: a whale's tail breaking the surface off a tour boat, fishing from the deck, a waterfall, and the whole group packed into a steaming hot spring. XXL reports that Brown's husband, Jake Bongiovi, was on the trip too.

Neither post tags a brand or announces a project. It is a holiday carousel, and the numbers say it landed: by Tuesday, more than 1.1 million likes on Ice Spice's post and 3 million on Brown's.
