Columbia Sportswear Japan announced a collaboration with South2 West8 on Friday, October 2: six pieces of jackets, fleece and headwear, on sale Friday, October 9 at 11:30am Japan time. The release says both brands share a fishing culture, and the collection pairs South2 West8's design approach with the functionality of Columbia PFG, short for Performance Fishing Gear.
The anchor piece is the Logriver Bomber Jacket at ¥72,600. Columbia says it took one of PFG's signature fishing jackets and reworked it into a compact bomber. It comes in green and black, plus a third colourway carrying South2 West8's "Native Skull & Target" graphic, which the release describes as the label's emblem.
The Fall Creek Fishing Parka is ¥61,600, with lots of pockets and a storm flap over the front zip to keep wind and rain out. Its shell is a polyester and cotton blend. The Wintertrainer Fleece Jacket is ¥29,700, cut short and wide and offered in four colourways. Mastered, which covered the launch on Saturday, says it is based on an archive Columbia design.
The rest of the lineup: the Bahama LS Shirt at ¥38,500, an update of the PFG staple with a rod pocket and multiple chest pockets, then the Logriver Booney at ¥12,100 and the Logriver Cap at ¥8,800. The release lists no other prices.
It sells at the Columbia Tokyo Flagship in Tokyo, Columbia's Minami-Horie store in Osaka, Columbia's official online store, Nepenthes' directly operated stores and the Nepenthes online store. The release names only Japanese channels and says nothing about an overseas release. This is separate from the Kith & South2 West8 for Columbia collection that Kith published in March 2025.
