Victoria Beckham Took Her Spring 2027 Show to the Conciergerie and Danced Around the Prison's Past

Victoria Beckham showed her Spring 2027 collection on Friday, October 2, at the Conciergerie, the former prison on Paris's Île de la Cité where Marie Antoinette was held. W describes a candlelit, Gothic-vaulted hall, and notes that the building more recently hosted Alexander McQueen's macabre shows. Reuters says guests at the candlelit rows included Eva Longoria, David Beckham and the couple's children Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

The mood inside was meant to be lighter than the setting. Beckham studied ballet as a child, and W reports she took this season from the modern-dance revolution of the 1920s, when choreographers moved away from classical ballet toward a more intuitive relationship with the body. She told WWD she wanted her dresses to look "suspended, and dancing around" the model.

Georgette, starch and a deep V

W picks out sheer viscose-georgette dresses patterned with wavy lines, with asymmetric cutouts and ball-beaded hems, and Grecian styles made from square cuts of pleated, tucked georgette. Prints of flowers and kissing birds, W says, recall Bronislava Nijinska's collaborations with Natalia Goncharova for the Ballets Russes. WWD also describes pleated, draped dresses in the kissing-bird print with delicate chain details, and others with plissé pleating and bows at the back.

The firmer pieces carried the same idea. W lists pleated starched-cotton minidresses that fan out at the hips, blouson jackets in leather, suede and cotton canvas worn with bloomers, and oversized trench coats in featherweight technical fabrics. A deep-V jacket with raw edges, worn open over bare skin with voluminous trousers, was a key silhouette. WWD adds taffeta raincoats and slim trousers and jeans with tank tops and cotton poplin shirts.

On the suits, the two reviews read the season differently. Reuters saw oversized suits in green and blue tones with broad, padded shoulders, over trousers that spilled past the heels. WWD found the suits more fitted than last season, some with their lapels sliced off. The house's own page shows 44 looks, which is the quickest way to judge for yourself.

Accessories and a profitable year

WWD says Beckham paired the clothes with a hand-painted "floating" sandal with a carved-out wedge heel, a Fontana belt buckle that cuts the usual B logo in half, and new flat handbags inspired by 1920s styles, sized for a phone. It also reports new red lipsticks, launching officially on Monday.

The show lands after a first for the business. Reuters reports the fashion and beauty company made an operating profit of £7.3 million in 2025, its first since it was founded in 2008, on revenue up 15% to £129.8 million, and opened its first New York store last month.
