Julian Klausner showed his Spring/Summer 2027 women's collection for Dries Van Noten in Paris on Wednesday, September 30. The house streamed the show live at 3pm Paris time on Instagram and driesvannoten.com, and its own posts of the collection put the idea in one line: glamour led naturally to the movies, with models dressed like movie sirens, on and off screen.

The premise comes from Klausner's show notes. As Launchmetrics Spotlight reported on Yahoo, he wrote of an actress who, after a day on set, takes the streets back to reality, and the show was soundtracked with taxi horns and sirens. Klausner told the outlet he kept thinking about glamour "in quite an innocent way," as the desire to feel done up simply because you want to. The house's own post quotes him on the same note: dressing up for yourself, playing in front of the mirror, trying things on, getting into a role.

The prints are the headline. Numéro Netherlands writes that vintage movie posters became one-off prints across dresses, skirts, tops and trenches, with fictional titles including Lacquer and Lace, Vipère and Ruffle Her Feathers, and that Klausner slipped his own name into the credits. Launchmetrics describes spray prints on skirts and bias-cut evening dresses carrying motifs from films that exist only in his imagination. nss magazine's review also read the prints as fake film posters of the era.

Then the layering. Numéro describes T-shirts under dresses, knits over florals, skirts piled over one another, jackets thrown over slips and prints clashing with prints, with belts cinching loose shapes and brooches and beaded strands moving as the models walked. Launchmetrics saw a slinky cocktail dress over a rugby shirt, a plunge-front silk dress over a graphic tee, a sweatshirt-like piece pinned with an enamel brooch under a flouncy semi-sheer skirt, and a single hot-pink racing glove.

The craft sits on top of the casual pieces. Launchmetrics lists embroidered opera jackets and jacquard blazers pinned with baubles, sequinned blouses over button-up tops, and a cowl top with a silk neckline dripping in paillettes and fringe. nss magazine points to texture play between dense fabrics and satin ones and a lot of jewel appliqué. The house's own close-up photos bear that out: a silver brocade top with a collar of beaded flowers, sequin petals and crystals, and a green, orange and pink sequin vest worn over yellow with strands of beads.

Colour is part of the pitch. Numéro opens its colour list with bubblegum pink meeting turquoise and mustard, and nss magazine calls the palette muted but vivid. Its reviewer, Lorenzo Salamone, goes further than most and calls Klausner the best thing to happen to the brand since its founder, a read that is his own and not a consensus.

It lands in a Paris week where more is more. Launchmetrics ties Klausner's stack-it-all approach to a season of maximalism, and the same week Drew Henry's Courrèges debut traded in colour and humour too. At Dries the point is smaller and more personal: getting dressed is the show.
