Moncler is taking its archive project beyond the jacket. Re/Icons 2026 reworks four of the house's old styles and, per WWD, adds head-to-toe looks for the first time: wind jackets, tees, pants and skirts, with beanies, balaclavas, silk foulards and sunglasses styled on vintage climbing goggles. The collection launches globally on Thursday, October 15, at select Moncler stores and on moncler.com.

The four jackets are the Karakorum, the Verone, the Himalaya and the Tibb. The Karakorum goes back to 1954, when Moncler equipped the Italian expedition on which Achille Compagnoni and Lino Lacedelli made the first ascent of K2. WWD says the original was raw cotton with down insulation; the new one is a glossy 10-denier micro ripstop parka with a removable hood and inner shoulder straps that let it be carried like a pack. It comes in black, red and petrol blue for men, and black and purple for women.

The Verone dates to the 1980s and became the look of Milan's Paninari, the youth scene that treated the puffer as an everyday uniform. The reworked version is a relaxed fit in lightweight matte micro cotton, with a pull-out hood. The Himalaya, introduced in 2009 and later developed into the Maya, is now a matte cotton-nylon blend with its drawstring hood and logo sleeve pocket; the Tibb, a sleeveless gilet from the '80s, becomes an oversized reversible vest in recycled Longue Saison or wool gabardine.

A few details tie them together. All four jackets are coloured with a camaïeu technique, shades stacked within one colour family, and carry an inner label reproducing Vittorio Sella's photograph of K2 from June 1909. The metal logos on the pockets take their cue from alpine souvenir pins. MR Magazine gives the fall/winter season theme as "Pioneers in Moncler with Extraordinary Dreams".

The full looks are the news. Re/Icons has run since 2023, according to WWD. WWD calls a full ready-to-wear line a first for the initiative, which turns an archive reissue into a wardrobe and gives the brand a reason to sell a customer more than a single jacket. WWD puts the range at €990 to €2,400; we could not reach Moncler's own release to confirm the prices.

The rollout starts in Paris. WWD says it was shown on Monday and Tuesday at Il Rifugio, a private space in Moncler's Champs-Élysées store, with a Paris prelaunch there on Thursday, October 8. A pop-up at Isetan in Tokyo and a prelaunch at the Fifth Avenue flagship on October 14 follow, ahead of the October 15 global date.

There is also the Alpine Diary, a book narrated by an invented 1950s explorer, pairing diary entries and archive photos of famous ascents with colour shots of the collection. WWD adds that the brand's first feature-film collaboration, Bianco, directed by Daniele Vicari and starring Alessandro Borghi as the climber Walter Bonatti, has its explorers wear the recreated Karakorum. Italian cinemas get it in 2027.
