Satoshi Nakamoto, the Los Angeles streetwear label, appears to have made a pair of sunglasses with Oakley. Neither brand has announced it. The first photos came from Jaysse Lopez, who posts as @twojskicks, on Instagram on October 6, with a caption that tags both: "@satoshinakamoto._ x @oakley". He shot the pair at home and wears it in the last of the 11 photos.
What the photos show
The frames are a wraparound in a distressed, scratched-silver finish with black arms and orange mirrored lenses, with "satoshi" written on one lens. The packaging gets as much attention: a riveted, metal-look hard case with Oakley's ellipse on the lid, a black drawstring pouch printed with a mushroom cloud and the Satoshi Nakamoto script, and a riveted box with a Satoshi Nakamoto nameplate.
What we don't know
There is no name for the model, no price and no release date, and nothing on either brand's own accounts as of October 9. The post went up two days after ComplexCon in Los Angeles, where Satoshi Nakamoto was on October 3 and 4, but nothing says the sunglasses were there. Oakley has been busy with collaborations this fall: its own posts since late September cover Cactus Jack's Chapter 001, Kiko Kostadinov and Satisfy. Satoshi Nakamoto's best-known tie-up so far is with Vans, which released the Era 95 Gems with the label in April.
We'll update this story when either brand confirms the pair, and take the Leak label off then.
