Diesel's D-One bag is on diesel.com, in a run of sizes and materials with US prices from $775 to $1,395. Diesel's page calls it a compact, lightweight essential bag from its FW26 runway, and describes the style as slouchy and utilitarian.
The design hook is the straps. Diesel says the silhouette is defined by buckled top-handle straps inspired by worn belts sliding through denim loops, and the product photos show them running down the front of the bag with the tails left hanging. Highsnobiety, which ran a long piece on the bag on October 6, points to the workwear details: rivets, buckles, keepers and metal prongs.
Sizes, materials and prices
On Diesel's US page, the Small top-handle runs $775 in treated leather or crystal solarised denim. The Medium is $875 in treated leather or distressed canvas, $795 in denim and leather, and $1,395 in patchwork leather. The Large is $950 in leather and $1,050 in treated leather, and the Duffle 48H is $1,050 in leather. Diesel lists the colours as black, brown, blue and military green.
The denim is the most Diesel thing on the page. The crystal solarised version is a black-grey washed denim sparkling with small crystals, trimmed in matte hardware with buckled denim straps.
The distressed canvas Medium goes the other way, in military green with ripped, stitched panels, brown leather straps and mixed gold and silver buckles.
Why it matters now
Diesel's page doesn't say who designed the bag. The timing is what makes it worth watching: it lands after Diesel confirmed that Glenn Martens would step down as creative director following his final show in September, with a successor still to be named when we last checked. A bag priced mostly between $775 and $1,050 is a bet that the house can sell accessories on its denim identity, whoever draws the next collection.
