BAPE's tailoring line is going to Antarctica. MR. BATHING APE, the premium menswear label A BATHING APE runs alongside its streetwear, and the British label Nigel Cabourn release a Fall/Winter 2026 collection together on Saturday, October 31. Outer Limits, the company behind Nigel Cabourn's stores in Japan, announced it on October 27 as the first collaboration between the two, and MR. BATHING APE confirmed the date on its own Instagram on October 29: "Mr. Bathing Ape® by Nigel Cabourn 31 October."
The theme is Operation Deep Freeze, the run of US missions to set up and supply research stations in Antarctica. The release says the clothing those crews wore had to cope with extreme cold, and the collection takes its functional details from that kit.
What's in it
The lead piece is a down jacket at ¥143,000, embroidered with the collaboration's logo and finished with a camouflage lining and a shearling collar. A B-15C flight jacket, ¥110,000, carries a collaboration patch on the chest. Around them: a check shirt jacket at ¥88,000, a zip-up fleece at ¥77,000, a crew neck jumper at ¥63,800, a half-zip jumper at ¥50,600, and military easy pants and cargo pants at ¥50,600 each. A turtleneck knit with ribbed cuffs and hem has the broad arrow, one of the label's signatures, embroidered at the cuff. All prices include Japanese tax.
Where to buy it
In Japan it's at Nigel Cabourn's Omotesando store, The Army Gym in Osaka's Minamihorie and BAPE THINK in Jingumae. In Hong Kong, BAPE STORE in Causeway Bay and at 1881 Heritage in Tsim Sha Tsui, plus I.T and EXI.T. In mainland China, BAPE STORE in Sanlitun, Beijing, DSM Beijing, I.T in Shanghai and Changsha, and EXI.T in Shanghai. Online, jp.bape.com and I.T's ITeSHOP in Hong Kong and China. The release names no time and no store outside Asia.
The read
It's a collection the label is releasing without its founder. Nigel Cabourn died of cancer on June 11, 2026, aged 77, and Nigel Cabourn Japan holds a memorial event, "The Spirit Of Nigel Cabourn Lives On", at Isetan Shinjuku's men's store from November 4 to 10, with a special sweatshirt and graphic tee made for it. Japan has long been the label's strongest market, and the label he built on old expedition and military clothing, reworked from a deep vintage archive in fabrics like Harris Tweed and Ventile, carries on there. This brief is home ground for it.
The more interesting move is BAPE's. MR. BATHING APE is the suits, shirts and ties side of the company, and this pulls it into serious cold-weather outerwear in the same week the main line's BAPE by Kazuki Kuraishi technical collection lands, also on October 31. These are Nigel Cabourn prices, not BAPE tee prices: nothing is under ¥50,600. What isn't settled is reach. The store list stops at Asia and jp.bape.com, and neither brand has said whether BAPE's US site will carry it.
