Stella McCartney and the Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara are back for a third time. The brand calls it a third limited-edition collaboration, and it goes on sale on Wednesday, November 11, on stellamccartney.com and in Stella McCartney boutiques worldwide. The collection page lists ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes and accessories; the brand hasn't published prices yet.
The piece the brand's November 5 post puts first is a varsity jacket. In it, Ryo Ryusei and the model Mika Schneider wear it in tan wool with black sleeves; the caption says it features Nara's "Cutie in the Puddle" artwork, and the photos show a large embroidered Nara child across the back and smaller drawings on the chest and sleeve. The brand's caption gives the wool as RWS-certified and points to its commitment to vegan leather alternatives.
The rest, as the brand describes it: a corduroy jacket and jeans printed all over with Nara's art in organic cotton, a limited-edition souvenir jacket in satin embroidered with Nara's "Sleepless Night", wool knitwear, cotton jersey pieces, vegan-leather bags and trainers printed with Nara's art. Both posts are set to "Coming Up" by her father, Paul McCartney.
McCartney signed the November 4 reel herself, calling Nara "one of the greatest living artists of our time" and saying she was humbled and grateful that he agreed to work with her again.
The first two
The partnership started with a unisex capsule for Spring/Summer 2021, which the brand calls Nara's first-ever fashion collaboration. The second, another unisex capsule, followed at the end of 2022, under Spring/Summer 2023.
Our read
Nara's wide-eyed children are among his best-known images, and McCartney keeps coming back to them: this is the third collection since 2021. The formula is set by now: Nara's drawings, McCartney's materials story, limited runs. This time the lead piece is a varsity jacket, and the release lands mid-November, in front of holiday shoppers. Without prices it's hard to say who it's for, and in a limited-edition collection the jackets are the pieces to watch on the 11th. It lands alongside her Winter 2026 campaign with Kylie Jenner, the other thing the house is pushing right now.
