Stella McCartney's Winter 2026 campaign stars Kylie Jenner, and it comes with a cause. Called Wild Horses, it's a short film conceived by Stella McCartney and directed by Gia Coppola, with cinematography by Autumn Durald Arkapaw and music from PJ Harvey's "Horses In My Dreams (Demo)". The house teased it on Instagram on October 21 and revealed Jenner on October 22 as "Kylie Jenner for Stella McCartney", and stellamccartney.com now leads with it.

The house's own page describes Jenner immersed in water alongside a trained horse, in a film built on "coexistence rather than control". The photos it has posted put her on a beach at sunset and in the surf: in a chainmail halterneck top, a black velvet and lace gown, and a layered handkerchief mini dress in viscose satin, all from Winter 2026.

The cause

Stella is explicit about why Jenner. "I wanted to use Kylie's huge platform to call for the protection of wild horses in America, and around the world," she says in the house's October 24 post, adding that she wanted to reach people "who might never normally think about this". On the campaign page she describes thousands of wild horses being rounded up and taken from their habitat: "It is suffering and cruelty, and it really pains me." The house says the campaign supports equine welfare charities globally, without naming them, and that the American Humane Society monitored the animal action on set.

The Appaloosa bag

The product at the centre is the Appaloosa bag, which shares its name with the horse breed Stella grew up around. "I was brought up riding horses, even when I was in my mum's womb, riding her own Appaloosa stallion across the hills of Scotland," Stella says. The house describes it as handcrafted in Italy from vegan, cruelty-free leather alternatives down to the glue, with whipstitched versions and crocodile-embossed panels. On stellamccartney.com's US site, the Appaloosa bucket bags run from $1,050 for the tiny size to $1,350 for the medium whipstitch version, and the chainmail halterneck top from the film is $1,990.

Our read

Animal-free materials are Stella McCartney's whole identity, and horses have run through the house for years; its own page traces them from the archive to the Winter 2026 runway. What's different here is the casting. Putting Kylie Jenner in a horse-welfare film is a reach play, and Stella says as much: she wants a different generation in the conversation. The risk is the obvious one, that the message gets lost behind the celebrity. The house is betting that a bag with a backstory is how the message travels.
