Chemena Kamali showed Chloé's Summer 2027 collection in Paris on Thursday, October 1, at 10am Paris time, streamed live on Instagram and chloe.com. It is her third year leading the house, according to Interview, and it has become a talking point for what came with it as much as for what came down the runway.

The talking point is the show notes. The Daily Front Row, which writes that it has itself been repeating a rumour that Kamali is leaving Chloé for Saint Laurent, says the notes were written in the first person and read almost like a letter: they open with a wish that the love poured into the collection will last, and close with the sign-off "Forever Chloé. Love, Chemena." The outlet asks whether it feels like a goodbye, and says the rumour is that she would take over from Anthony Vaccarello at Saint Laurent. That is its reading, not a report. We found nothing from Chloé, its parent Richemont or Saint Laurent's parent Kering confirming a move, and Kamali's departure is not reported as fact anywhere we checked.

The clothes themselves are the more reliable story. Per The Daily, the show opened with fringe looks that felt vintage and fun, followed by coats and jackets with low necklines that showed lace underneath. Interview, covering the same show, lists plunging necklines, PVC raincoats, sheer peasant blouses with Chantilly lace, ivory mini dresses and baby pink micro trenches. Its summary is that Chloé is bringing sexy back, on the house's romantic, bohemian codes.

The Daily singles out the long plastic rain coats, paired with matching, cascading rain hats, and the lace: lace bodysuits that criss-cross, worn at the end of the show under full skirts with double bubble hems. It calls the long raincoats not new to this season, but charming and romantic here. Chloé's own photos of the show show a terrazzo-walled runway and a mostly white and black palette, with pink in one fringed set.

Apple Martin made her runway debut, in a white, ruffled maxi dress, Interview reports, calling her a friend and former Interview intern. Natasha Lyonne and Claudia Schiffer watched from the front row, with Cynthia Erivo, Claire Danes, Alexa Chung and Dree Hemingway also pictured.

Whatever happens next, the facts on the table are narrow: the collection was shown, the notes were signed, and a designer's future at a house is a rumour until a company says otherwise. For a look at another Paris show that got the same question, read Balenciaga's Spring 2027 show.
