OVO's Original Six NHL Collection Lands October 30, Led by a Starter Jacket

October's Very Own and the NHL are back with an Original Six collection: the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montréal Canadiens, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings, "the teams the league was built on", as OVO put it in the film it posted on October 28. OVO's own page for the collection says it goes on sale on Friday, October 30, at 10am Eastern, in OVO stores and online. There are no prices yet.

Each team gets the same five pieces. The headline is a nylon jacket made with Starter, with the team crest appliquéd and embroidered across the front. Then a heavyweight cotton hockey long sleeve with an appliqué crest, a heavyweight fleece hoodie with a tonal crest, a seam tee with the crest on the chest and a city graphic, and a beanie made in Canada with the crest knitted in. The owl is on all of it.

What the pictures show

OVO says the line takes its cue from the 90s and early 2000s, when fans started wearing team gear well away from game day, and its flat-lays look the part. The Starter jackets are black, with the crest blown up to fill the chest. The long sleeves are cut like a game jersey, with an "Original 6" mark down the sleeve, an OVO x NHL puck patch and "Same City" across the hem. The hoodies carry a big tonal owl across the back, and the tees spell out the city over OVO.

Second time for the Original Six

OVO and the NHL did an Original Six collection once before, in October 2023: the league's announcement then listed hoodies, tees, varsity jackets and beanies for the same six teams, with Max Domi, Tie Domi and Chris Chelios in the campaign, sold through the NHL's shops as well as OVO's. It hasn't been a one-off partnership in between: a November 2024 OVO NHL collection included Edmonton Oilers gear, CTV reported. This time the varsity jacket gives way to a Starter nylon jacket and a long sleeve, and OVO's page names only its own stores and site.

The read

Starter is the giveaway: putting the actual Starter name on the jacket points straight at the era OVO says it's drawing on, instead of leaving it to a vintage-style graphic. For OVO, hockey is a steady line by now: alongside the NHL it made a collection with Hockey Canada for the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship, and the Leafs and Canadiens lead its new film. The open question is price, which OVO hasn't posted two days out.
