GU's third collection with Engineered Garments went on sale in Japan on Monday, October 26, at GU stores nationwide and on GU's online store, which had taken pre-orders since October 12. GU's site announced it as "GU × ENGINEERED GARMENTS 2026年 秋冬コレクション", its Fall/Winter 2026 collection.

The prices are GU's, which is the point. The most expensive piece is the Padded 2WAY Oversized Work Coat at ¥9,990, in two versions; the one in the photos here is a long blue denim coat with a corduroy collar and patch pockets. Below it, GU lists a Cozy Melton Parka at ¥5,990, a Fleece Utility Jacket and a Cable Crewneck Cardigan at ¥4,990 each, a Fleece Hooded Oversized Vest, Warm Super Wide Utility Pants and Warm Fleece Wide Pants at ¥3,990 each, and a 2WAY Tote Bag at ¥2,990.

Daily Expedition

FASHIONSNAP, which reported the collection on October 9, gives its theme as "Daily Expedition" and counts eight styles, and says the tote is the collaboration's first. GU files the clothes under men's in sizes XS to 3XL and tags every piece unisex; the tote is one size. Several are marked as made with recycled material.

The partnership has moved quickly. FASHIONSNAP's earlier reports date the first GU x Engineered Garments collection to late 2025 and the second to the following spring, the first with spring and summer pieces; this is the third in about a year. Neither GU's listing nor FASHIONSNAP mentions a release outside Japan.

Our read

Engineered Garments brings the workwear design and the name; GU is Fast Retailing's cheaper sibling to Uniqlo, which runs its own designer line-ups, most recently with JW Anderson. The trade is familiar: the designer gets reach, the retailer gets credibility, and buyers get a workwear silhouette for the price of a sweatshirt. Three collections in a year suggests the first two sold. The catch for anyone outside Japan is the one above: as listed, it's a Japan release, and resale will set the price everywhere else.
