BEAMS is ending its 50th-anniversary year in an arena. The Tokyo retailer has announced the full lineup for BEAMS PARK, a one-day event on Saturday, February 6, 2027 at Yoyogi National Stadium and the area around it, and its centrepiece is a concert: BE FES, the BEAMS music festival, in the First Gymnasium with seven acts, Kyoko Koizumi, Cornelius, Suchmos, STUTS, Spitz, HYUKOH and Noriyuki Makihara.
Tickets are ¥14,000 including tax, with doors at 10am and the first set at 11am. The first round is an official lottery presale on e+, open from noon on October 30 to 11:59pm on November 4 (Japan time), up to four tickets a person, with no refunds or changes once bought. Every child of elementary school age and up needs a ticket.
A lineup that maps the shop's own history
The bill spans the decades BEAMS has been open, which is the point of booking it for an anniversary. Spitz, formed in 1987, broke through with "Robinson" in 1995 and became one of the best-selling acts in Japanese chart history, and Noriyuki Makihara is one of the country's biggest-selling pop singer-songwriters. Cornelius, Keigo Oyamada, is one of the central figures of 1990s Shibuya-kei, the Tokyo scene where music and fashion were close to the same thing. Kyoko Koizumi, the singer and actress, sits alongside them, while the rock band Suchmos, the producer STUTS and the South Korean band HYUKOH bring it up to now. BEAMS calls it music loved across generations next to artists shaping the scene at home and abroad.
BE FES isn't new. BEAMS started it in 2022 and has taken it to seven cities, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Sapporo, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Hiroshima. Yoyogi's First Gymnasium, the suspension-roofed arena built for the 1964 Olympics, is the stage for the finale, and putting the anniversary there says how much BEAMS now presents itself as a culture brand as well as a chain of shops.
The rest of the day
Three more areas sit around the concert. UNION TABLE is a one-day food project curated by Kentaro Emoto, owner-sommelier of the restaurant Kabi, and Maaya Emoto of wineshop lulu, with kitchens from Tokyo, Toyama, Seoul and Barcelona, among them Kabi, BAR BRUTAL from Barcelona, SWITCH COFFEE TOKYO and Seoul Station Gomtang. The BEAMS FLEA MARKET, the first one BEAMS has held, fills the Second Gymnasium with more than 50 sellers: current and former BEAMS staff, creators, brands and well-known names, each bringing clothes and things they've loved. BEAMS says who's selling, and how entry works, will be announced in mid-November.
The last area, GRAND ARCH, hosts the final of a national tournament of Mölkky, the throwing game, the first BEAMS has run, organised by HAPPY OUTSIDE BEAMS, with ¥500,000 in prize money for the teams that come through the eastern and western qualifiers. Around it, BEAMS SPORTS runs a running session and HOOPVAN brings basketball. UNION TABLE and GRAND ARCH are free to enter, with Shibuya City listed as supporting the free areas; the concert is ticketed, and the flea market's entry details come in November.
For a retailer, the flea market is the most telling part. Putting the wardrobes of its staff, alumni and friends on the floor secondhand is the closest a shop can get to showing what its people actually chose to wear rather than what it stocked. The anniversary year has brought collaborations like Patta x BEAMS and Arc'teryx x BEAMS; BEAMS PARK closes it with a day built around music and the people around the shop instead of a new product.
